Spring Wreath II

I’ve been spending way too much time both designing lessons and grading papers and have really missed having an opportunity to be creative.  This weekend I had a little free time and crafted a second spring wreath.  If you missed my first wreath, you can see it here.

Wreath

For this wreath, I wrapped an old straw wreath form that I had in the basement with some pretty Dogwood fabric that I inherited from my mother-in-law.  Dogwood is the state flower of Virginia, making this a good fabric choice for spring.  Dogwoods won’t bloom for another couple of months around here, so I’ll have to enjoy this fabric until the real things start blooming.  I created flower after flower using more fabric from my mother-in-law’s stash until I had thought I had enough.  (While making all of these flowers I totally got sucked into watching episode after episode of Hoarders.  Wow.  It’s hard to believe that people truly live like that.)

I had all of the materials on hand for this project making my total cost free.  Yeah!

This wreath graces the door that leads from our deck to our kitchen.  The storm door should protect it from dirt, but it probably will take a beating from the sun if I leave it in this location all spring.

A little crafting time makes a gal happy!

I’m sharing with Susan’s Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, Jennifer’s Tutorial Tuesday at Hope Studios, Inspired By You Wednesday at Eisy Morgan, Feature Yourself Friday at Fingerprints on the Fridge, and the Weekend Wrapup Party at Tatertots and Jello.

  8. That looks so good! I STILL haven’t done anything about my wreath. I’m so behind! I might need to go through my stash and see what I can do.

As far as Hoarders goes, some of those places are SCARY! I wil fully admit that I’m a bit of a pack rat, but NOTHING like those people. YIKES!

  9. Oh it looks so great on your front door, nice job! Thanks for linking up!!
