2012 :: A look Back

2012 Collage

2012 is coming to a close and it’s time to take a look back at what was accomplished and to share a few popular posts from the year.

The first house project started this year was a remodel of our tiny upstairs guest bath.  Mr. SP worked on and off on this project all year and finished it just in time for Christmas.

New floor and wall tile, toilet, vanity and sink, and outlet make such a difference.

Be sure to come back for the big reveal post of this project.

In May I showed off our lush, green grass, the result of a fall 2011 landscaping project.

Little did I know that a derecho would blow through town on June 29 causing damage to both the house and lawn.

Our nice lawn was torn to shred by trucks who had no choice but drive over the lawn to get the tree off the house and to take down some other trees that we feared would cause future problems.

We ended up with a road in our backyard!  The house was repaired quickly and the lawn is a work in progress.

We spend every bit of free time that we had this summer on the lake.  Good times!

One of my most popular posts of the year was How to Refresh Grout.  The method I used truly works and five months later, my grout still looks great.

A big blogging accomplishment for 2012 was a switch from Blogger to WordPress.  I’m loving using WordPress and wish I’d made the move years ago.

I’ve been working on making galleries for six years worth of blog content.  My recipe gallery is complete and I’d love for your to take a look.  Click on the recipe tab at the top of the page.  I’ll soon be adding other galleries.

  1. Hi, Paula, thanks for linking up! You have been a busy girl. So sorry about the trees and that storm. But, your house sure is beautiful, I love brick homes like that, it has such character. Love your new bathroom too.

    Here’s to 2013!!
