DIY Burlap Thanksgiving Cards

DIY Burlap Thanksgiving Cards

I enjoy sending seasonal cards to friends and family members.  For Thanksgiving this year I thought it would be fun to craft my own cards using supplies that I had on hand.  These cards were easy to make and I hope that the recipients will enjoy receiving them.

Supplies Needed:

Cards with Envelopes
Burlap
Pencil
Turkey Cookie Cutter or Turkey Printout
Spray Adhesive
Fall Stamps and Stamp Pad
Glitter Glue Pens
Thanksgiving Card Supplies

Procedure:

1.  Using turkey cookie cutter, trace turkey on burlap and cut out.

2.  Spray the back of the burlap turkey with spray adhesive and apply to the front of the card.  Be sure to do this in a well ventilated area.

3.  After the spray adhesive dries, outline the turkey with a coordinating glitter glue pen.

4.  Stamp the inside of the card with a Thanksgiving message and the back of the envelope with a Thanksgiving stamp.

5.  Send to your favorite friends and family members.

For fun I took pictures of my cards using fall flowers as a backdrop.  My Asters have been brillian this fall.

The inside of the card was stamped with a simple message and a cornucopia in a coordinating color.

This card was created using the same turkey cookie cutter but reversed when glued to the card.  Pretty Oak folliage makes a pretty backdrop.

I like these cards so much that I just might have to craft a few more!

Do you send seasonal cards?  I’m always happy when I receive a card in the mail.

  3. So sweet! And I love that you used a cookie cutter for your template. I love using things I already have in different ways!
