Stamped Washer Christmas Ornaments

Making a handmade gift is one of the pleasures of Christmas giving.   Stamped Washer Christmas Ornaments are a simple craft that’s sure to please anyone on your shopping list.

Personalized with a name and date, this project is one that can be used and enjoyed on a Christmas tree for years to come.

How to Make a Stamped Washer Christmas Ornament

You’ll need these supplies to make this project:

Washers
Metal Stamp Kit
Hammer
Black Sharpie
Baby Wipes
E-6000 Glue
Ribbon or Twine, or Cording

Stamp Washers

Using two washers whose sizes can be layered together, stamp one washer with a name and the other with the date.

I found the best way to stamp the washers was on a concrete surface.

Be sure to buy a few extra washers because you are bound to have a few failed attempts.

After the washers are stamped, use a black Sharpie to go over the numbers or letters.

Immediately wipe clean with a baby wipe. The marker will make your stamped letters pop.

Glue Washers Together

Using E6000 glue, glue the washers together.

Add Ribbon, Cording, or Twine

After the glue dries, tie on ribbon, cording or twine for a hanger.

I’m a 7th grade teacher and made a washer ornament for each child in my homeroom to hang on their tree at home.  Both the boys and girls can’t wait to take these home.

For the boys, I used twine for their ornaments. The girls’ hangers were either ribbon or cording.

These Stamped Washer Christmas Ornaments were quick and easy to make and also inexpensive.

I hope that my students will enjoy hanging these ornaments on their tree for years to come.
