Crepe Paper Wreath for Spring

Spring is nearly here! It’s time to remove winter décor, replacing it with spring for a fresh look.  Today I’m sharing how to make a Crepe Paper Wreath for Spring.  This wreath can be used on a door, mantel, or even a porch wall.  Customize the crepe paper and ribbon color to coordinate with your decor.

16 or 19” styrofoam wreath

2 rolls of crepe paper – The picture shows three rolls but I only ended up needed two.

Coordinating ribbon

Sewing pins

Scissors

Ruler

Supplies Needed to Make a Crepe Paper Wreath

 

Procedure

Step One – Cover the Wreath form with Crepe Paper

Pin one end of the crepe paper to the wreath using two pins.  Wrap the crepe paper around the wreath to cover the styrofoam.  Pin the finished end and cut off the excess.

Step Two – Add Ribbon for Hanging

Use pins to attach a coordinating ribbon for hanging.

Step Three – Prepare Crepe Paper

Cut crepe paper into 4” sections.

Step Four – Pin Crepe paper to wreath

Pin crepe paper to wreath, overlapping each section to make the wreath full.  

Pin crepe paper to a styrofoam wreath form to make a crepe paper wreath

Pin sections of crepe paper to a styrofoam wreath form to make a crepe paper wreath.

Continue to add crepe paper sections until the wreath is completely covered.

Make a wreath using crepe paper, sewing pins, and a styrofoam wreath form.

Instructions

  1. Pin one end of the crepe paper to the wreath using two pins. Wrap the crepe paper around the wreath to cover the styrofoam. Pin the finished end and cut off the excess.
  2. Use pins to attach a coordinating ribbon for hanging.
  3. Cut crepe paper into 4” sections.
  4. Pin crepe paper to wreath, overlapping each section to make the wreath full.  Continue to add crepe paper sections until the wreath is completely covered.
  5. Hang and enjoy!

Notes

Do not hang this wreath in a place where it will get wet.
