How to Make Your Own Easter Cards

Learn how to make your own Easter cards to send to friends and family.

Easter will be here before we know it.  Sending cards is an Easter tradition that I enjoy.

This year I thought it would be fun to make my own cards to send.

The cards that I designed are easy to make and require materials that you probably already have around your house.

How to Make Your Own Easter Cards

This project was super fun to make and would be great to do with older kids or teens.

Step One

Trace the cookie cutter onto a scrap piece of cardboard.  I used a piece that was part of the packaging for a dress shirt.

Cut out the pieces and decide on a fabric choice for each piece.

Step Two

Trace each design onto fabric using a pencil and cut it out.

Be sure to cut inside the pencil line if you are using light-colored fabric.

Step Three

Cut out felt embellishments to add character to each design.

I didn’t have a sheep cookie cutter but wanted a sheep card so a drew a pattern onto the cardboard to make one.

Step Four

Spray the back of each fabric piece with spray adhesive.  Wait a minute or two until it is tacky before applying to your cards.

Step Five

Apply to cards. Be sure to press each design down firmly.

Step Six

Add felt and ribbon embellishments.  Let dry.

My little chick had pencil marks showing on his sides.

To cover this, I edged it with orange glitter glue.

Step Seven

Stamp “Happy Easter” in each card.

That’s it!

Enjoy Your Cards

I know that I would rather receive a handmade card any day over a store bought one.

I think these cards are super cute and I am excited to send them to friends and family this Easter.

I’m not sure which is my favorite and it’s going to be hard to decide the recipient of each card.

I like this method so much that I’m sure I’ll make more cards using cookie cutters for other holidays and seasons.

  3. Paula, these are darling! What a great way to get a pattern–I have a drawer full of cookie cutters!! And I’d rather get a homemade card than a store-bought one, too.

The blue gingham bunny is my favorite, I think. He’s so handsome!

Thank you so much for linking to Grace at Home. I really appreciate it!

  4. So precious and so creative!! How come I can’t come up with these great ideas? Thanks also for all the sweet and nice comments you often leave on my blog. They’re very much appreciated and sometimes give me a BIG head 😉 Have a great weekend even though I think the weatherman says it’s supposed to rain the whole time, but that’s ok 🙂
