More Beach Fun

I come to the beach every single summer with my mom and rarely spend a lot of time on the beach or in the water.  Taking care of a ten year old for a week changed my usual beach routine.  Reese loves the water and wants to be in in at much as possible, preferably where the waves break so that she can repeatedly get clobbered.  I’ve been in the with her because I wouldn’t want anything to happen to her while I’m watching her.  We have had a blast!  I’ve been in the water more this week than I’ve been in it since I was about 15 years old.  The OBX water is usually on the cold side but it has been very warm and clear this year.  I am thoroughly enjoying getting clobbered along with Reese and assorted other young cousins.

Reese and I continue to craft a little bit each day.  Embellished notebooks were a lot of fun to make.  Reese made one to use at school and another as a surprise for her mom.  We mod-podged coordinating scrapbook paper on both sides of the notebooks and then added ribbon and other pretty do-dads.  It was a fun project and it’s something that she’ll enjoy using.  I may make one to use in my classroom this fall.  I think my 7th graders would love it!

I’m going to miss this little cutie when her Mama takes her home.
