Party Report

The retirement party that I hosted last Thursday was a success.  After nearly a week of on and off rain, we were lucky to have blue skies with big puffy clouds for the party with not a drop of rain in sight.

I raced home after school to get everything prepped before my guests arrived.  I had things in place just as the first car pulled into the driveway.

I used 25 Peony blooms to create the centerpiece for the food table.  I wish this would last forever because I just love it.

I put the beer in the fire pit part of our cocktail table and the other beverages on the deck.  The beverage server was a recent Sam’s $20 purchase, the wine holder is an old SL piece, and the ice bucket was borrowed from my friend’s mom.  Do you recognize the cooler from my Thifty Treasures post from last week?  (I’m going to keep an eye out for an ice bucket when I’m thrifting because it would be handy to have by own.)

The food was placed on a table in between the deck and the patio.  Old flower frogs kept the napkins from blowing away and a drop cloth made a perfect tablecloth.

My friends brought some yummy treats for us to enjoy.  That’s Vicki, our guest of honor, deciding what to sample first.

I have worked with Vicki for my entire twenty year career. She is a fabulous teacher, a good friend, and I’ll miss her more than I can express.  It’s going to be really odd not having her in the building with us next year.

Happy Retirement, Vicki!

I had so much fun hosting this party.  The next one is Friday night and will be a Pig Pickin’ for my birthday!
