Pinterest Inspired Vintage Valentine Wreath

It’s time for another Rock Your Knock Off Tour!  This time the projects shared are Pinterest inspired.

My wreath was inspired by one that I pinned from Plow and Hearth Catalog.  You can find the pin here and if you aren’t already a follower on Pinterest, I invite you to do so.  (I love pinning!)

Plow and Hearth Wreath

Plow and Hearth’s wreath costs $44.95 without shipping.  My version cost just $1 since I had all of the supplies on hand except for the foam core board that I purchased from Dollar Tree.

I started making my wreath by drawing a large heart on white foam core board.  I then cut the heart out and  painted it red using paint leftover from this end table makeover.  After the paint dried, I applied spray adhesive and Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter.

Pinterest Inspired Valentine Project How-To

The vintage valentines that I used for this project were all found with a quick search on Pinterest.  You can find them all here if you’d like to use them for your own project.  I copied each valentine to a word document and then printed them on card stock.  After cutting them out, they were glued to the hearth with glittered Mod Podge.  I used glittered Mod Podge for more bling.

Vintage Valentines for Wreath

After completing this wreath I hung it on my pantry door but didn’t really like it there.  Then it went to the screened porch where I would see it a lot but it clashes with my brick.  I’ll either use this over my mantel or it will go to school where I know the kids will adore it.

The vintage lover in me is pleased with this knock-off and its $1 price tag.

    1. Thanks, Vanessa. I can’t wait to see what the kids say tomorrow when they see it hanging on my classroom door. Hopefully they will think it’s neat!

  1. This is so cute Paula! What a fun way to keep Valentine’s Day cards too (or just an excuse to buy ones)! Printing them out was also a great idea and a free one too! I bet your kids at school would love seeing this! Or maybe you could bring a blank one and they could fill it up!

    1. You’ve reminded me to dig out the few vintage valentines that I have. I usually display them this time of year using old flower frogs.

  2. Paula, this is adorable! I’ve always love the vintage cards. I never thought about making a wreath from them. It reminds me of hanging Christmas cards on a string across a doorway. Jeanette

    1. Thanks, Jeanette! Now I’m thinking about making a valentine vintage card garland since you reminded me of hanging Christmas cards across a door. That would be great for my mantel.
