Updating Outdoor Lighting

When we added an addition to our home in 2004, we chose two inexpensive lights to go on either side of our kitchen door.  Over the past seven years these lights faded from black to gray.

(This picture is from February of 2011. Mr. SP installed the new lights too quickly for me to get before pictures.)

We looked at Lowes and Home Depot a few times for replacement lights but didn’t see any that appealed to us.  A local lighting store had two in stock that we both liked.  Another plus is that we supported a local business in this purchase rather than a big box store.

(Can you see how much my wreath faded since February?)

We really like the replacements and at $30 each, this was an inexpensive update.

  1. They look great Paula, I need to take your initiative and replace mine too. The ones on the front of our garage have certainly seen better days.

  2. I love the new lights!!! There is just something about black outdoor light that I love. They stand out more or something. Love them!

  3. For this, I think dusk to dawn led light best solution nowadays for outdoor lighting solution. it saves more than 90% energy I guess.
