Fun Weekend!

This weekend was full of fun and it wore me out! Friday morning a group of ladies gathered to play tennis with our friend who is visiting from Houston. After tennis we had a luncheon and sat around all afternoon talking.

Here we are post tennis:

Friday night Mr. SP and I were invited to a mixed doubles social at the other country club in town. I was a little nervous about going because this club is “the land of giant diamonds” and the ladies there are not always friendly. I had no reason to worry because the people could not have been nicer. We ended up staying there until almost 11 pm socializing and both of us left thinking that it would be great to be members of that club.

Saturday, we participated in a charity tennis tournament. Mr. SP ended up tieing for first place for the men’s doubles. In the afternoon, we competed in the mixed doubles competition and got second place. It was a good day of tennis!

Sunday, we went to the lake in the morning. It was very windy, but sunny and overall a good day to be outside.

We stopped for lunch here and put our feet in the water. I’ve yet to get into the water this year!

The view was very pretty from our lunch spot.

We had my father in law over for dinner for Father’s Day. I made all foods that he loves. We had grilled brats, German potato salad, roasted asparagus, corn on the cob, and cherry pie. It was really yummy!

I did this centerpiece for the evening. The garlic blooms remind me of fireworks!

I wish that my sweet daddy was still around for Father’s Day. He has been gone for twelve years now and not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. If you still have your dad in your life, give him a hug and a kiss and tell him how much you love him.

I’m taking a class at Sweet Briar College this week for recertification. It’s all day Monday through Wednesday, so that’s not so bad.

Have a good week!

  1. Love the centerpiece-If I haven’t commented on the yellow wreath yet… Loved it!!

I remember “Tennis Weekends”. That’s how Dr & I met. I really miss tennis. Bad shoulders & elbows were the death of me. I still have good knee’s. I’m sure that’s the next to go.

  2. You had a busy weekend! Yay for Mr. SP for winning 1st! 🙂 Your centerpiece is really pretty!!
