Beach Reads

Mr. SP and I leave for the beach on Thursday. Mama and some other family members are already there, but we had to wait to leave because I’m taking a class for school Monday through Wednesday of this week.

I treated myself to three new books for the beach. I can’t wait to sit on Mama’s covered porch in an Adirondack chair with a glass of Lemonaid and read to my heart’s content.

I’ll be reading…

I read Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand on my Chicago trip and really liked it. I’ve also read Hilerbrand’s The Beach Club, Nantucket Nights, and Summer People. I have not read anything by Linda Frances Lee or Katie Crouch. I hope that these books are good!

  1. Oh, those look good! I bet your trip is going to be delightful! Have fun!

  2. I want to read the junior league after you!

  3. Amanda @ Serenity Now says:

The last one looks funny!! 🙂

  4. Junior League was awesome!! You will love it. Her second book set in Willow Creek, TX – The Ex-Debutante was great, too.

  5. Have fun at the beach!
I have read all of those books! The Devil in the Jr. League was funny!

  6. Manuela@Pleasures of Homemaking says:

Have a fun trip! It’s always wonderful to have a new book to look forward to reading!

  7. The Devil in the Jr League was a fun summer read. I just finished reading Mating Rituals of the North American WASP and that was fun too!

    Enjoy your beach vacation.

  8. Domestic Designer says:

Sounds like some good reads! Let us know how they are and have fun!

  9. Pearls To Hide My Neck says:

I’ve read all three. I loved the Devil In The Jr League. I never quite got into Girls In Trucks and I just finished A Summer Affair and I liked it but didn’t love it. I just started Queen Takes King and am looking for something to read after that. I love summer!

  10. JulesTX says:

I have read all of Elin Hilderbrand’s books and you will not be disapointed with :Summer Affair”.

I think she also has a new one coming out in July.

  11. I just read “Girls in Trucks”…would love to hear your thoughts beacause I couldn’t bring myself to like a single character.
