Knee Deep

It’s been a crazy week here and it’s only Wednesday.  We’re doing state testing at school which makes for a stressful few weeks for both students and teachers.  I volunteered to host a retirement party next week.  When I think I might prepare for it, I’m not sure. Adding to this, my tennis team has practices and matches many nights of the week making me not get home until after 8 pm.  I’m a tired puppy!

After school yesterday I took a few minutes to take some flower pictures before I rushed off to my tennis match (that I lost…badly).  My flowers are so pretty in May and I hate that I never feel like I have a minute to enjoy them.

This double ruffled petunia is going to be really pretty all summer long.

My Peonies will bloom soon!

This pretty Iris was planted by the original owners of our home.

I’ve passed it along to many friends.

I realized yesterday that taking just a few minutes to slow down and admire nature was just what I needed mentally.  I’ll try to think about these pretty flowers today when my last nerve is plucked!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. Paula, your flowers are fantastic. We’re still waiting for most of the tulips to bloom here, your yard looks “happy”.

  2. This has been a fabulous spring for flowers, hasn’t it? Yes, slow down to enjoy those beautiful blooms!

  3. I am SO envious of those peonies!!! I had the worst luck with the one plant I have. My MIL insisted that it would be okay at the end of the driveway. In full sun, scorching summer heat. It got fried the first year and has never bloomed. :s Any suggestions on what kind of sun they like?

  4. I remember how busy this time of year was when I taught public school. Just remember that summer break is coming soon! 🙂 I love your peonies. They are so full of blooms. Do you have them staked? Mine have bloomed already, however some heavy rain has beat them to the ground…such a shame for such beautiful flowers. Carla

  5. Beautiful flowers, you have quite the green thumb Paula! I took some pictures on Mothers Day but haven’t had a chance to post them.

Glad you had a chance to stop and smell the flowers. Take it easy and get some rest! When you can of course 🙂

  6. You have a lot on your plate right now, but at least your flowers are blooming and look beautiful! I’d love to see the peonies when they open…they are one of my favorites.

Good luck in all that you are doing!

    Jane

  7. Paula,
Your flowers are beautiful. I am going to need to look for the double petunia. Walking through the garden is one of my favorite ways to relax, too!

  8. Love all the pretty flowers! Did you plant those peonies by plant or seeds? Those are in abundance. Please share when they bloom. I have seen them on a seed packet and loved them but never really took the time to pull up on web adn look at them.

Your so right, just standing outside in the beauty of what God has given us is amazing!
