Fall Mantel Party

The Nester is hosting a fall mantel party and I thought it would be fun to participate.
I would have loved to have shot these pictures in natural light, but I took them after work on Monday evening, a dark and rainy night, so they are a bit dark.  Oh well!

I found the wreath in Williamsburg when I was shopping with a group of friends including Donna of Designs on 47th Street.  I filled my Southern Living at Home hurricanes with birdseed and added feathers.  The wheat sheaths were purchased at the beach.  I plan to add fresh gourds to the mantel when I have the opportunity to purchase them.
IMG_2869 The floral arrangement on the table between the wing chairs is left over from the CSI Project’s Mod Podge challenge.  I haven’t refreshed the arrangement because it dried beautifully.
Dried gourds grown by my father get arrange in my grandmother’s basket every single year.

  1. Your mantel looks great, Paula! I love that wreath–makes me want to take a trip to Williamsburg! And the birdseed–what a great idea for filler, especially when you’re also using feathers! You’re a smart cookie. My favorite thing may be that basket, though–that’s a wonderful idea. I tend to forget the floor by my fireplaces!

  2. Fireplace looks great Paula, I love love the feathers. The wreath looks perfect centered over the fireplace. Who could go wrong with something from Williamsburg.

  3. Still pretty!!! I do just love those feathers. 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with me, Paula (and for actually adding a link!!!) 😉
