Where have I been?

Gosh, I haven’t blogged in a long time. It seems like I go from 5 am to 9 pm without a moment to take a breath.

Two weeks ago, I went to a fabulous cooking class and wine tasting. I’ll try to share some recipes soon.

My grandmother had a heart attack a week ago. She spent six days in the hospital, but she’s back in her nursing home now. My poor aunt sat with her all day, every day. My aunt lives six hours away and had to stay in a hotel for a week. She went home yesterday. I know her bed felt good last night. We spent last Saturday with Granny and I’m going to drive to Radford tomorrow to spend the day with her. She is 92 and you just never know which visit will be your last.

I’ve also been busy organizing our Spring USTA women’s 3.0 team. I’m the captain this year. We had a fun dinner and meeting Tuesday night.

This is the uniform that I wanted:

Many of the ladies on my team are in their late 40’s or early 50’s and they didn’t want flowers on their rears.

This is our uniform. I still think the floral one is cuter, but I do like this one. We ordered them from Smashgal.

  1. Paula,

I’m so sorry to hear of your grandmother’s illness. Situations like these are sometimes harder on the family than the patient.

I lost my grandmother when she was 93 and I still miss her. She was a great lady.

    P.S.
I’m a 50+ lady and I have to agree.. the floral outfits are cute, but the others are better!

  2. So glad to see you back. Sorry that your Granny wasn’t well but I am glad to hear she is back on the mend and you are getting a chance to visit.

Love the tennis outfits! So cute! Wish I could be on your team…I am a 3.0 player but still too chicken to get on that “team” circuit. I need to find a good partner that I can get used to playing with. I think that would really help.

    Have fun!
