This Week’s Thrifty Treasures

I really enjoy Rhoda’s weekly “Thrifty Treasures” party to see what deals ladies have found around the country. Be sure to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality to see this week’s edition.

My deals for this week include two Bakelite hand mirrors that I got at a yard sale in Geneva, IL for $3.00 each. I didn’t need these mirrors at all, but I couldn’t pass up two mirrors for $6.00. I already had one mirror that belonged to my great aunt, so I guess I now have a the start of a collection.

For the time being, I have my three mirrors hanging on the wall in my guest bath. The one with the monogram is the one that I already had. The two with the mirror part facing out are the new ones.

I will be moving these mirrors to another wall because I don’t like the way that they call attention to the light switch and outlet. I’m planning on painting this bathroom (one of these days) and I’ll move them then.

I looked on Ebay for mirrors of this type to check prices.
This one is currently going for $24.99.

This one is priced at $14.99.

The starting bid for this one is $9.99.

At $3.00 each, I think that I found a bargain!

I really like your idea of grouping the hand mirrors–very creative!

  3. Great deal….I don’t think any of us really intend to start a collection, it just sort of evolves because we are drawn to things we love and before we know it, we have several. Love your new collection:)
