Best of the Weekend

Welcome to Best of the Weekend.   It’s back-to-school time here in Virginia and I was a busy bee all week getting ready for a new school year.  I met my students last night and look forward to spending the year with them.  Before the craziness officially starts, I’m going to relish every second of this weekend.

What I Shared This Week

After a 20 year search, I finally scored an Ahalt Whiskey bottle.  One of my distant relatives was a distiller in Burkittsville, MD in the late 1800’s and I’ve always wanted one of these hard to find bottles.  I did some research on both the distillery and my family connection to it that you can read about here.

 

I also shared BLT Salad with a Twist.  This is a most delicious concoction that I am sure to make time and time again.
