A Former Student…In a Magazine!

My gym had a stack of free H2O Magazines on the counter the other day, so being the magazine junky that I am, I grabbed a copy to enjoy that evening. The magazine was only ok, but boy was I surprised when I saw a familiar face being featured!

I taught this man many moons ago when he was a chubby, sweet, baby-faced 7th grader. I saw him on and off when he was in high school and college in the gym. He was always the type of kid was friendly and not afraid to talk to adults.

I had heard that he wanted to be a fitness model and I’m so happy that he is reaching that goal. This magazine will go to Gold’s Gyms all over the USA. I hope that he gets many contracts from this article.

He looks pretty good now, don’t you think???

Name: Ryan Lowman

Age: 23

Hometown: Madison Heights, Virginia

Curently Live In: Charlotte, North Carolinaa

Occupation: Personal Trainer/Fitness Model

Marital Status: Single

Pets: None

Astrological sign: Taurus

Favorite sport: College Football

Favorite music: It really depends what kind of mood I’m in at the time.

Favorite movie: The Notebook

Favorite kind of date: An early morning jog, then conversation over breakfast and coffee.

Favorite food: Sushi

Favorite way to spend a Saturday: Enjoying the rich tradition of Virginia Tech football first hand at Lane Stadium and tailgating with family and friends.

Favorite kind of workout: Very intense circuit training, high reps, low weight, squeezing every ounce of energy out of every rep and then to finish the workout off, some interval cardio.Your greatest accomplishment thus far: Learning to understand myself and body mentally/physically. I decided to take my physical state from a bodybuilder at 265 lbs. down to a healthier and fitness model look of 195 lbs., thus in the process learning and maturing mentally about who I was and where I wanted to go in life.

Something you’d like to accomplish still: To continue to open up peoples’ minds about fitness and the connection it has on their overall lifestyle. Also, showing people how to live a healthier and more productive lifestyle (mentally/physically) through fitness.

Quirky things our readers might want to know about you:: I’m not just a tough guy.

What most people don’t know is that I’m a romantic type of guy. Growing up with all sisters in my family, you had no choice. I like cooking exotic dinners, candles, rose petals…the whole nine yards.

Philosophy on life: What’s in the past is in the past. What’s in the future is in the future. But today is now, so go live life!
