Vacation Time on the OBX

Greetings from the Outer Banks.  I’m on vacation this week and next with my mom and niece.  My aunt, uncle, and their family are staying a few blocks away from us and we’re all having a grand time together.  Another aunt and uncle are joining us mid-week, my sister-in-law is coming this weekend and so are Mr. SP and his dad.  We’ll be here next week, too.  It’s been a long time since I’ve spent two weeks at the beach.

My niece, Mama, and I love to craft.  Yesterday we made necklaces out of washers and scrapbook paper.  These were really easy to make.  We used an exacto knife to cut the paper to fit the washer.  We put a different paper on each side of the washer so that our necklaces are reversible.  A quick coat of Mod Podge glues the paper in place.  After a short drying time we flipped the washer to the other side and Mod Podged that paper into place.  We even made a necklace for my cousin, Susan.

Here we are modeling our necklaces before a trip to Dairy Queen.

I’m not sure which pattern I like best!
This picture makes me laugh.  Reese wrote her name on the horse’s rear last summer.  She’s checking to see if it is still there.  (It is.)
Funny Girl!
Keeping up with a ten year old is exhausting work.  We’ve putt-putted, played on the beach, cooked, and gone down to the beach after dark to catch crabs.
Do you remember being ten years old?
You’re never to old to love the beach!

  4. Was I ever 10 years old? Hmmm, let me see..

I loved going down to Manteo. There used to be a fabulous Christmas shop there that I understand is not in business anymore. Be on the lookout for Andy Griffith!
